The theme of 52 for this last week was Flowers.
I was rolling up my sleeves for shooting in the streets, parks and gardens when I remembered how much I loved those flowers in baroque pictures. I upload one example of them but it's not the only.

I always loved painting. I'm not an expert but I enjoy it except some styles, probably in these cases I don't understand the meaning of it or I don't feel nothing watching them.

Because of this I changed my mind and I took this illuminations' style as a reference. Really as a distant reference, exactly as an inspiration because I had one lonely rose and a minimalist and simply cristal vase.

Working with the rose was very nice. I realized that when I like the final result about a photographic session or when I enjoy the process I finally love the character of my pics.

Nowadays I'm reading books about photography for improve my technique and so I imposed myself an additional exercise of illumination for every challenge I do.
Gradually I will impose myself another condition of composition and this way I hope learning more and more. Almost always I have to adapt the method because my equipment is limited and I have to be creative. But it's funny too!

This time I played with the petals translucent property:

Por la izquierda y desde atrás:
From left and back:

From right, back and bottom, lighting edges:

Showing the textures of the petals, from back, right and bottom light:

Light in a frontal position. This way flower has more volume:

Turning the rose for a non conventional sight. But about the rose all the sides are good:

A little change to edition to get soft shades. Texture is enhanced:

Testing another soft edition, in romantic mood:

And testing with b&w in high contrast:

No me pude resistir a los mosaicos. Me encantan.
I didn't resist to make mosaics. I love them.

Todas las posibilidades. Todas las combinaciones:
All posibilities. All combinations.

Working with light was a grateful visual experience and seeing the changes in volumes, textures, details...

The rose is going on magnificent and it's been at home four days ago. It's a bit more opened but is strong and beautiful. From now I will often buy natural flowers because I'm not tired to watching them.

This is the first change for the blog. There were several reasons: it needed a new look, an internal change is done and it also needed a shorter name easier to remember.
The look of the blog will change but not inmediatly.
The work vision will be the same. I hope to increase the contents and items made by me.
I think this new name define better the mood of the blog when I opened it and I wish it will be closer to you (at least it will be shorter to type): http://bohemeatelier.blogspot.com.es/
I tried to keep the contents of the blog at the same place avoiding duplicated blogs but I have lost the information about followers. I will contact you by other ways to avoid inconvenience.

I apologize you for the annoyances and it's my desire to see you again in this site because you are its soul.

This is the visual sensación with the monthly photographic challenge for LADJ of Flickr: the whole word is moving but not just the subject in movement..."eppur si muove".

It was a hard challenge. To get a background blurred was easy but not a focused subject.

Or the composition was wrong o the pic was underexposed or overexposed or out of the framing...

Disparos y más disparos...
Shots and a lot of shots...

I think the picture of the bird is, aesthetically, the most beautiful of the whole serial shots. It's the hardest too. I tried with little parrots but those pics were wrong, I think we were too much close each other. I have to keep trying with birds because the results could be precious.

It's an useful exercise. I hope that I've learned the mechanism of shooting when I need to use it, it's necessary to be very quickly and there's no two chances at the same time.
Ahora a esperar el siguiente reto...
Now, I'm waiting next challenge...

January and February challenges: Peace and meal & Picnic in poor condition

With a little delay I upload my last monthly challenges:

PEACE AND MEAL ~ PAZ Y COMIDA

Hizo falta recurrir al still life.

This was for the theme Pottery Charms. It required a still life. Always with the problem of shadows not desired in the scene.

PICNIC IN POOR CONDITION ~ PICNIC EN MAL ESTADO

And this was a kind of joke, with which we could practice jumps, still life and synchronization with the shots.
There were several approaches: dramatic, gloomy and humorous, like this...or I hope this is the result.
The stiffness were guaranteed for my legs during all day.
